We had a chance to investigate the Pizza Express in the UK on 27th of January 2022.
Many questions have been arising on whether Pizza Express have an option for Halal Pizzas in their establishment in the UK.

We wanted to make this as easy to understand for those reading.

Pizza Express have a website which covers this matter; in which we have detailed below.
We also have an article on the Monster Drink in the UK for those who have been asking us on our social media pages across facebook and instagram.

For years Pizza Express have been using Halal Chicken in their establishments across the UK.
However due to the presence of pork and other non-halal meats in the restaurants, and the kitchens not operating on the Halal standards laid out; the final product cannot be deemed Halal.
This is further clarified below on their website where we have taken a few screenshots.

Further quotes from the website:

“Whilst our previous suppliers provided halal slaughtered chicken, it was never our policy for that to be our only option. Our chicken now comes from accredited suppliers that use both non halal and halal slaughter methods, because we have recently increased our sourcing options on chicken to ensure continuity of supply during the current challenges within all supply chains.”

So please remember that they are using a mixture of methods in slaughtering these chickens which could range from gassing to stunning.
They continue to confirm that they cannot gurantee the chickens remain halal at the end; due to contamination factors.

Hence our conclusion on this matter would be to refrain; even if you agree with the stunning of the chicken or not.
Due to the contamination that could occur with other non-halal products such as pork, would deem this unsuitable for a Halal dietry consumption.
We are lucky to have a variety of Halal options, so please be careful when picking a venue to eat out in.

Summary

Halal chicken is served, but due to contamination with non-halal meat such as pork, our advice would be to avoid Pizza Express even if they do have a Vegan option, as they cannot give a gurantee due to high probablity of cross-contamination in the kitchens where food is being prepared.

For those that are maybe unsure, please view the evidence with screenshots that we have provided below.
We have also included the website link to this at the top of this post.
