The Hairs of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) and Tabarruk
Yes, some of the companions were buried with the hair of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace).
Ibn al-Sakan relates from Safwan ibn Hubaira from his father that he said: Thabit al-Bunani said: Anas ibn Malik said to me, “This is a hair of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace); place it under my tongue (i.e. after I die).” So I placed it under his tongue, and he was buried with it.” [Ibn Hajar, al-Isaba]
It is also reported that Khalid bin Walid put some hair of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) in his hat. He would always wear it in battles, and come out victorious through its blessing.
Umm Salama had some of the hairs of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) kept in a silver bottle. When people became ill, they would go and seek blessing from these hairs, and they would be healed by means of its blessings. They would take the hair of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace), place it in a cup of water and drink the water in which the hair was placed, and by this they would be healed.” [al-`Ayni, `Umdat al-Qari]
