Pectin is it halal?

There is no problem with using pectin. The pectin used in preparing jelly is obtained from apples or lemons.

Day 6 Using a Dye Jah-dhamah Radiallahu 'Anha, the wife of Bashir Kha-saasiyyah Radiallahu 'Anhu says: "I saw Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam coming out of the house after taking a bath and was stroking (or combing) his hair. There were signs of henna on his mubaarak head."There is a difference of opinion on whether Nabi SAW used a dye. Some scholars say yes based on the literal meaning of the hadith. Some scholars have said no based on the fact that Nabi SAW had very little grey hair, some sahabas RA counting 20. So those ahadith that talk about the hair having colour/dye on them, the colour has actually come from the oil that Nabi SAW used which when reflected in the sun gave a colour shade.
