Cosmetic products: Urea?
Q. I’m contacting you via E-mail about an ingredient that’s found in many cosmetic products, Urea. Is this ingredient a halal one?
A. Urea is chemical compound which could either be synthetic or derived from animal urine. Synthetic urea is permissible and urea from animal urine is najis (unclean).
